Alloa Sheriff and Justice of the Peace Court has jurisdiction over the whole of Clackmannanshire which stretches from Menstrie in the West to Muckhart in the East. Alloa is the main County town of Clackmannanshire which is often referred to as the “Wee County” as it is the smallest local authority area in mainland Scotland.

Justice of the Peace (JP) Signings by appointment only. Please book an appointment in advance by phoning the Sheriff Clerk’s Office.

Small estate interviews are not taking place within the court buildings at this time, please contact your local Sheriff Court for more information and guidance.
The court is situated on the corner of Mar Street and Drysdale Street in central Alloa. The main court entrance is on Drysdale Street. The sheriff clerk's office is down the lane next to the court building. Use the journey planner for public transportation information.
All buses entering Alloa stop in Shillinghill. For further information please use the journey planner.
Alloa train station is a 5 minute walk from the court. Visit ScotRail or National Rail Enquiries for train times.
There is no public car parking at the court. There is parking free of charge just off the ring road and in Greenside Street. Both car parks are approximately 5 minutes walk from the court.
The main rank is in Mill Street.
When you arrive at the Sheriff Court please report to the court officer in the main foyer.
Jurors should telephone the jury helpline the evening before service to get attendance advice. If you are sitting on a jury, lunch and refreshments will be provided for you if the court sits into the afternoon.
Water is available to the public.
A loop system is available in the courtrooms for those with hearing difficulties. Please contact the court for assistance.
Wheelchair users can access both the court building and Sheriff Clerk's office through the main entrance which is provided with lift access.
