A court in the Sheriffdom of Grampian, Highland and Islands
The Sheriff Court in Peterhead is situated at the corner of Queen Street and St Peter Street. The courthouse was built in 1869 by architect William Smith and was extended in the late 1990's, as can be seen from the old and new appearance at the front of the building on Queen Street. Further renovation works were undertaken in 2019. The Justice of the Peace court was established in the same building in 2008.

The court building is accessed from Queen Street. Ramp access is available via St Peter Street. Use the journey planner for public transportation information.
The bus interchange is located on St Peter Street and is a short walk from the court building. For up to date timetables please visit stagecoach.

There is no public car parking available at this court. Queen Street has parking for a limited number of cars with maximum parking time of 45 minutes. There is a pay and display car park on Prince Street which runs parallel to Queen Street.
There is a taxi office on Queen Street.
On arrival, please report to the main reception which is located on the first floor. You will then be directed from there as to where you require to go in the building.
If you are attending for jury duty please come to the main reception where you will be directed to where you require to go in the building. If you are chosen to sit on a jury, lunch and refreshments will be provided for you if the court sits into the afternoon.

General jury service enquiries should be directed to the jury citation and excusal team as instructed on your citation.
There are a number of local cafes and restaurants within walking distance of court building.
A loop induction service is available in both court rooms for people who have hearing difficulties. Please advise the court officer if you require to use this facility.
Wheelchair users can access the building via the ramp from St Peter Street. A lift is available for access to the first floor.
