A court in the Sheriffdom of North Strathclyde
The Court House is a traditional Court building having been built in the 1890's, and is situated on Albany Street, in the centre of Oban next to the Police Station. There are 2 Courtrooms, the main one on the first floor, and a second smaller one on the ground floor.
The Court has jurisdiction over that part of Argyll and Bute comprising the parishes of Ardchattan, Muckairn, Coll, Colonsay and Oronsay, Craignish, Glenorchy and Innishael, Kilbrandon and Kilchattan, Kilchrenan and Dalavich, Kilfinochen and Kilvickeon, Kilmore and Kilbride, Kilninian and Kilmore, Kilninver and Kilmelford, Lismore and Appin, Tiree, Torosay and that part of Jura consisting of the islands North of the Gulf of Corrievreckan.

The courthouse is situated in the centre of Oban, on Albany Street, next to the police station. Use the journey planner for public transportation information.
Local buses and buses from outlying areas stop at the bus terminus in Station Square, 150 yards from the courthouse. Check timetable online.
The train station is 200 yards from the courthouse. Visit scotrail or national rail for train times.
There is no public car parking available at the courthouse. There are a limited number of on street meter parking spaces on the streets surrounding the court. There are pay car parking facilities, off Albany Street, off Tweedale Street and on the North Pier. There is a free car park at Lochavullin Road. All are within a 10 minute walk from the court.
There is a taxi rank in Station Square, a few minutes walk from the court.
All visitors should report to the Sheriff Clerk's Office, which is immediately on the left hand side as you enter the building.
If you attending for jury duty please report to the sheriff clerk's office. If you are sitting on a jury, lunch and refreshments will be provided for you if the court sits into the afternoon.
There are drinks vending machines in the witness rooms. There are cafes, restaurants and hotels which serve food all day, within a few minutes walking distance from the court.
A loop induction service is available in the courtrooms for people who have hearing difficulties. Please advise the sheriff clerk's staff if you require to use this facility.
There is signposted disabled access to the rear of the building. Visitors are asked to ring a bell to gain access. This access is covered by CCTV cameras visible from the sheriff clerk's office.
