A court in the Sheriffdom of North Strathclyde
The Court House is a traditional Court building, which sits at the top of Castlehill in the centre of Campbeltown. There is one Courtroom on the ground floor of the building.
The jurisdiction of the court covers that part of the parish of South Knapdale, south of the line of the B8024 road from Clachbreck on Loch Caolisport in the west to the junction of the B8024 road with the A83 road in the east, all of Kintyre, and the islands of Jura, Islay and Gigha.

We only accept Appointment of Executor applications. The recording of Inventories and issuing of confirmation is undertaken at Dumbarton Sheriff Court and Justice of the Peace Court.

The court house is situated at the top of Castlehill on the right hand side next to the Old Police Station. Please use the Journey Planner for public transportation information.
Buses from outlying areas stop in Kinloch Road. Local buses stop in Main Street close to the court.
There is no public parking at the court house. There is free on-street parking on most streets surrounding the courthouse.
The main taxi rank is at Main Street, outside the town hall, 75 yards from the courthouse.
All visitors should report to the Sheriff Clerk's Office, which is immediately on the right hand side after you enter the building.
If you are attending for jury duty please report to the Sheriff Clerk's office. If you are sitting on a jury, lunch and refreshments are provided if the court sits into the afternoon.
There are no facilities in the courthouse but there are several restaurants close to the courthouse in Main Street.
A loop induction service is available in the courtroom for people who have hearing difficulties. Please advise the Sheriff Clerk's staff if you require to use this facility.
There is disabled access at the side of the building. Visitors are asked to ring the bell at the access door to gain access.
