Case description

[1]   The appellant is a firm of solicitors. The respondent, the Scottish Legal Complaints Commission, upheld various service complaints against the firm made by a third party.

[2]   In this statutory appeal, the respondent concedes that it erred in upholding the complaints since the case investigator proceeded on an error of law. It submits that the court ought to remit the matter back to the Commission for re-investigation and determination of new. The appellant argues that the court is entitled to, and should, determine the complaint itself and order that the complaints be dismissed.

[3]   The Second Division of the Inner House will hear the appeal on Tuesday 15 September 2026 at 10:30.
