Court Motions Team

Court Motions Procedure

The Court motions team deals with the following procedures:

  • intimating and enrolling motions
  • opposing or consenting to motions, and
  • receiving intimation of such a motion, opposition or consent, by email in certain causes in the Outer House.

The email procedure does not apply to causes which are raised by petition or commercial.

Where each party to such a cause is represented by a solicitor, the motions procedure will apply unless the solicitor declares to the Deputy Principal Clerk that they do not have suitable facilities for transacting motion business by email.
