Lord Pentland succeeds the Right Honourable Lord Carloway as head of the Scottish Judiciary.

During the ceremony, the Royal Warrant appointing Lord Pentland was read to the court before his Lordship took the Oath of Allegiance and the Judicial Oath.

Lord Pentland then took his place on the bench and addressed the court before it adjourned.
