Case description

[1]    The respondent was convicted by a jury in the High Court of Justiciary at Kilmarnock of ten charges, including theft and fraud. One of the charges, charge 9, was a charge of assault to injury. At an adjourned diet on 12 August 2025, he was sentenced to a period of 9 years imprisonment.

[2]    The Crown argues that the sentence imposed was unduly lenient, in that the sentencing judge did not impose an Order for Lifelong Restriction.

[3]    The appeal will be heard by the High Court of Justiciary Appeal Court on Friday 9 January 2026 at 10:30am.
