The historic Opening of the Legal Year was livestreamed for the first time from the Court of Session. In his final Opening of the Legal year ceremony before retiring, the Lord President Lord Carloway began proceedings by laying out the aims and ambitions of the Judiciary for the year ahead. The Dean of the Faculty of Advocates and President of the Law Society were also invited to give a speech during the service. This was followed by a welcoming to the newly appointed King’s Counsel.
