Update to civil online caveats portal

Aug 04, 2023

An update to Civil Online , in relation to caveats, has been introduced and will be effective from Friday 4 August.

The first new feature has increased the character limit on the business field to 6000 characters. This will allow for more detail of the business/company to whom the caveat relates, to be entered should it be required.

Secondly, users are now able to create one caveat and submit it to as many courts as they seek in one single submission. As many courts as you require can be selected when lodging:-

Users are also now able to track all of their current live caveats for both Sheriff Court and The Court of Session.  The tracker will display as follows:

Finally, caveats can also now be renewed via the caveat tracker. Caveats can be renewed individually, or in multiples, to different courts all at the same time, by simply ticking the caveats you seek to renew. Additional functionality is also coming imminently to allow the caveat to be updated with a different solicitors name to that of the original caveat.

A user guide detailing all of the above changes has also been prepared
