Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service’s new Civil Online platform

Solicitors and legal firms are being invited to attend a demonstration of the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service’s new Civil Online platform.

Solicitors and legal firms are being invited to attend a demonstration of the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service’s new Civil Online platform.

The new portal has been developed to include the legislative change required for Act of Sederent (Simple Procedure Amendment) (Miscellaneous) 2022/211 which comes into force on 31 May 2023. 

The changes also include a new and improved login process which is being introduced in response to user feedback. Existing functionality available on the current Civil Online will continue on the new portal.

The dates to attend have been organised by sheriffdom. If you are unable to attend the session in your local sheriffdom, please feel free to attend another. The dates are as follows:
  • Glasgow & Strathkelvin – 18 April 2023 at 4pm
  • Grampian, Highland & Islands – 19 April 2023 at 4pm
  • Lothian & Borders – 25 April 2023 at 4pm
  • North Strathclyde – 26 April 2023 at 4pm
  • South Strathclyde, Dumfries & Galloway – 9 May 2023 at 4pm
  • Tayside, Central & Fife – 10 May 2023 at 4pm
 
Please contact Gary White at civilonlinelab@scotcourts.gov.uk to sign up for one of the sessions specifying which date you’d like to attend. 
 
You can currently do the following on Civil Online:
  • Raise and defend Simple Procedure cases
  • Lodge documents in Simple Procedure cases up to 50MB
  • Track the progress of Simple Procedure cases
  • Submit documents (except initiating documents)for Ordinary actions up to 50MB
  • Submit Simple Procedure cases (if signed up) via bulk solicitor API
  • Submit caveats (by invite only, please contact the above email address to obtain access)
