Family Actions Users Group meeting

The Family Actions Users Group met on 13 November 2024.

The Family Actions Users Group met on 13 November 2024.

Members received an update about the numbers of family cases registered, including international child abduction, permanence and adoption petitions.

The group discussed the display of electronic productions in family cases, and agreed that it would generally be appropriate to display items directly from the electronic inventories, save in complex cases which might merit the production of a core bundle. The discussion included other practical matters arising from the use of electronic productions, including the desirability of consistent image sizes throughout pdf documents.

A discussion took place about the appointment of child welfare reporters. The family judges confirmed that the appointment is one made by the court, and that the court (through the clerks of court), and not agents, should ascertain the availability of individuals to act as reporter in any given case.
