The Personal Injury Users Group met on 11 September 2024.

Members of the group approved the draft minute from the meeting of 17 April.

Members were provided with updates on a number of matters, including a proposed clinical negligence pre-action protocol, next steps in relation to a review of Chapter 42A, recent and upcoming changes in the National Personal Injury Court and the volume of Clyde & Co cases in the National Personal Injury Court.

There was a discussion about possible matters that might be covered by practice notes.

The meeting concluded with a discussion around the possible contributing factors behind an increase in the targeted average length of personal injury cases in the Court of Session.
