Commercial Court Conference 2018

A Commercial Court Conference is to be held in the Laigh Hall, Parliament House, Edinburgh, on Monday 30 April 2018 between 9am and 1pm with registration and refreshments available from 8.30am.

The focus of the conference will be electronic documents. The programme will include panel discussions on:
    (i) disclosure and recovery of electronic documents;
    (ii) use and presentation of electronic evidence in court;
    (iii) how the commercial court might to respond to the opportunities and challenges presented by electronic data.

The speakers will be all of the commercial judges; the Hon. Mr Justice Robin Knowles, CBE a judge of the commercial court in England and Wales and a member of the Lady Justice Gloster Working Party on Disclosure; John MacKenzie of Shepherd and Wedderburn; Colin Hutton, Chris Baldwin, Siân McNiff and Emma Boffey of CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang; Jim Cormack of Pinsent Masons, Lorna Bennie of Clydesdale Bank; Gerry Moynihan, QC; and Almira Delibegovic-Broome, QC.  

The event is funded by the Scottish Courts. There is no conference fee. It is intended to provide 3.75 verifiable hours CPD (Law Society) and 3.5 hours substantive law CPD (Faculty of Advocates). Expressions of interest in attending should be communicated to commercial@scotcourts.gov.uk.
