Fee payable from 1st April 2024:
(a) under rule 7.14(3)(a) of the Sheriff Appeal Court Rules (standard appeal procedure) - £61
(b) under rule 27.2 (accelerated appeal procedure) - £61
(c) under rule 28.13(3)(a) (application for a new jury trial) - £61
(d) under rule 29.2(2) (appeal from summary cause) - £61
(e) under rule 16.4(1) of the Simple Procedure Rules(b) (appeal from simple procedure case) - £61
Guidance: This fee applies to the substantive hearings that arise under the following rules of court:
- Rule 7.14 (3) (a): an appeal hearing fixed under standard appeal procedure
- Rule 27.2 an appeal hearing fixed under accelerated appeal procedure
- Rule 28.13 (3) (a): hearing of an application for a new jury trial
- Rule 29.2 (2): hearing an appeal from summary cause
- Rule 16.4(1): hearing an appeal from simple procedure case
This fee does not apply to non-substantive hearings such as peremptory hearings, procedural hearings or hearings on motions. The fee is payable by the appellant.
